Recently, the Philippines was appointed the Vice-President of the United Nation's Human Rights Council (UNHRC). This is ironic given the Philippines dismal human rights record and the fact that to date, it has failed to implement UN Special Rapporteur, Philip  Alston's,recommendations to stop the killings and other human rights abuses inthe country.

Please take the time to visit the petition which asks theUN to compel the Philippines to implement Professor Alston's  recommendations and to re-visit its decision to appoint the  Philippines Vice-President of the UNHRC.
